Hello members,
I have finally heard back from DCR and we are cleared to camp in the corner of the safari field near the pavilion on Friday night May 6 and Saturday night May 7.
The project of the day on Saturday will be the boardwalk.
“The work will be shoveling and digging up the existing boardwalk from the sand that piled it in over the winter and then placing it for the summer, it will be tough but I sure if we all work together we can get it done.” per Mackenzie, Park Manager.
Please keep in mind that many hands make light work. For those who can’t do the boardwalk, we will also be doing a beach cleanup.
Please RSVP so we have an idea of how many campers we will have on each night. Lunch will be served after the project, compliments of Chef Bobby Lomba and volunteers. As always, we will meet in the safari field at 9am with the project beginning at 9:30am. Bring gloves and shovels. This will be our last conservation project of the spring season so let’s have a really good turnout!! This project is a tough one so the more members we have attend, the easier the job will be. Looking forward to seeing lots of you there!
